I have been assigned a task from, 1st grade teacher, Mrs. Jameson. She has asked me, along with multiple other 7th grade students, to pick out a class pet for her 1st grade classroom. Usually, a class pet could be a good idea, but you need to know which animal to choose. She prefers the animal to have a small habitat, easy to care for, fun and safe for the kids, and can stay at the school overnight and during weekends. This type of fish is found in the Asian countries of Cambodia and Thailand. The males are typically more stunning, as they have longer fins and more bright, vibrant colors, however, don’t put two males in the same tank because they will fight. Their tanks can be a minimum of five gallons of water and thrive at about 75 degrees fahrenheit or higher. You won’t absolutely need a filter system, because this species of fish has an ability to take in oxygen from the air above the water. Just know that if you choose not to have a proper filter system, you’ll need to replace the water frequently. Finally, as said before, you can use the Betta for a learning experience. For example, you could teach the children on how to feed and clean their
