According to my mother, my first animal interest was ladybugs, but what I remember well was my sister and I’s obsession with woodlice. These shy creatures fascinated me so much that every time I came across one I had to pick it up. Eventually my love of reading came into play with my love of learning about life and I absorbed books upon books about animals from fiction and life. When I was younger, I used my dedication of reading to show my parents that I was ready to take care of guinea pigs by reading every single book I could on rodents in my elementary school. Surprisingly, it worked and for six years I learned about guinea pigs from first hand experience. Ever since, I’ve learned about how different animals have their own quirks both individually and as a species through my pets, which includes numerous dogs, cats, chickens, and the aforementioned guinea pigs. …show more content…
