laws were put into place to plead innocent for some cases. the Stand Your Ground law was created. it states that, “... a person is justified in using deadly force in certain situations and the “Stand your Ground” law would be a defense or immunity to critical charges and civil rights” others might say that because of this law crime went down 9 percent. crime rates did go down. on the contrary there is a hole in this law. “... a person is justified in using deadly force in certain situations… a defense or immunity to critical charges and civil rights.” A person can use deadly force, so long as that person was protecting his or herself or their family members. most cases were dropped because of the SYG law, most murderer’s pleaded that they were just protecting their family, and were declared un guilty. a Father gun downed a 17-year-old boy. His child allegedly told him that there was someone in his 16-year-old daughters bedroom and when he entered, he reportedly found the two in bed together. The father (who had a gun) asked the boy to identify himself. His daughter claimed she did not know this boy and that they were not in bed to together. The father claimed that the boy was reaching for something when he had asked him not to move from his location. The boy did not have any weapon; the father did. The daughter later confessed that she did know the boy and that they were in bed together. The case is being referred to a grand jury, so no arrests have been made. The father
