The mission of HOSA is to enhance the delivery of compassionate, quality health care by providing opportunities for knowledge, skill and leadership development of all health science education students. Myself, Marla Fortoul, have experienced the tools and opportunities that HOSA provides. I gained the ability to communicate effectively in a hospital setting, the importance of teamwork, and the organization required to succeed as a professional.
Organization might not seem, as qualities need it, I believed the same misconception before, but is indeed one of the more important skills that a provider has. It provides the foundation of every successful care system, each person working for the clinic, hospital, or own practice has to follow rules and do they part of their job, being that treating the patients, or sorting trough papers and making phone calls. I acquired this skill during all my health science class, but I truly understood it in Allied Health getting my CMAA certification, which puts an emphasis in organization because it makes everything run smoothly in the office if everyone is organized and has a plan for the

This requires every worker to have the adequate communication skills and respect for each other; I learned this quality during my rotation in the hospital where I was able to see how the doctors and nurses interacted with everyone. First and foremost the specialist needs to listen to the patient and create a comfortable and amicable environment for the patient and loves ones. The communication needs to be effective and clear, without a paramount of medical terminology that creates confusion and stress on the patient. This quality is going to help me in the future since i understand how to deal with different situations and I am going to be able transition into a different
