January 13, 1999. 18 year-old Hae Min Lee tragically disappeared. February 9, 1999. Adnan Syed, a 17 year-old student athlete was falsely accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend Hae Min Lee. Young Syed claims he cannot remember the day clearly, just minor details. It’s suspiciously convenient for someone to forget a day that completely changed their life. I completely believe that Adnan is not guilty. One, there is no solid evidence in the case to be able to say Adnan did it. Two, Jay, an alleged “best friend,” had many stories about how everything happened but each and every time he told the story, they wouldn’t match up. Three, Wednesday, January 13, 1999, it was full of coincidences for poor Adnan Syed. Finally, was it also a coincidence that Ronald Lee Moore was released just 2 weeks before Hae Min Lee’s murder? The first time Jay was on tape being interrogated he said him and Adnan went shopping, yet the second time on tape he stated the name of a completely different mall. At the first trial, Jay said both him and Adnan went to go smoke, but at the second trial only he smoked and Adnan did not want to at the time. When mentioning the burial of Hae Min Lee’s body, Jay first stated that Adnan had mentioned to him that he was going to “kill that b*tch” a week before she went missing. Yet when asked again, Jay said that Adnan didn’t mention it until the day of at a local Best Buy parking lot when Adnan allegedly showed Jay the body of his ex-girlfriend in the trunk of the car. Coincidentally Adnan did not use his own shovels, if he owned any. The shovels used to bury Lee’s body were Jay’s. Furthermore, no one had a clue where Hae’s car was, except for one person. Jay.
