“The secret of happiness is freedom...And the secret to freedom is courage” (Thucydides). The Giver by Lois Lowry is a book on a utopia with no feelings. In the article “Haiti in Crisis” by, Bryan Brown and Patricia Smith, Haiti is a country that is living under poverty, unstable government, homelessness, and destruction. They are not in a perfect utopia but they still have feelings and love. The government of the Utopia controls everything to who they marry to what jobs and what there future is going to be, they ever have no color. But Haiti still does have feelings, love, and color. Haiti would be a more desirable place to live than the Giver’s Society. To fix a problem you need to express your feelings in some kind of way to get somewhere.
