The world today is full of references to many different objects or ideas. Several references in today’s society parallel to the Bible. For instance The David and Goliath story although it may not be specifically mentioned in a certain work that piece of work can still assimilate to the story. Another example is term Hail Mary in football which is a play where the quarterback throws the ball a long way in hopes of scoring a touchdown at the last seconds of a game to win that game. It is called a Hail Mary because it is once that someone probably said a prayer before the play. Not only has a revolutionary leader in which both Moses and Hamilton lead their people against a wicked ruler. Although MIranda could have picked any ruler for that example he decided to pick Moses for two reasons. The first being that both Hamilton and Moses were orphaned at a young age. Although, Hamilton was orphaned due lack of love by his parents, and Moses was orphaned by his parents due to love overwhelming love. According to Atlantic Records Hamilton was born out of wedlock and “his father never formally acknowledged him, rendering him a bastard.” So, Hamilton was fatherless because his father never took care of him, and to make matters worse his mother died at a young age and her husband took all of her worldly possessions making Hamilton poor and alone at a very young age. Moses on the other hand was so loved by his parents that they could not have killed him. The Christian faith is no different these set of rules are called the ten commandments that helps each Christian live a life of faith. In the song, “Ten Duel Commandments,” there is an obvious reference to the Christian faith because of the word commandments Manuel could have used a word like rule or law but he wanted to use the world commandments to draw in the Christians as well as it was a more perfect fit than rule or law. Also, Moses was the one who was given the ten commandments in the Bible, so for those who know the Bible well would have a recall to Moses in the beginning of the musical. So, the theme of Moses runs throughout the
