Hamlet; In act 4, Hamlet thinks highly of Fortinbras and admires how determined he is to fulfill his duties in going to war with Poland. In act 4, Hamlet deeply reflects upon his own actions. Even though, Fortinbras prompts Hamlet into taking instant revenge, Hamlet still thinks over the consequences.
King Claudius; In act 4, King Claudius is very manipulative and evil, especially when he takes advantage of Laertes and convinces him to take part in the plan of killing Hamlet.
Gertrude; In act 4, Queen Gertrude shows lack of wisdom and judgement. She seems to be weak, when Hamlet indirectly insults her, as well as when her husband does not allow her to state her opinion when she is talking to Laertes.
