Hank Aaron had a major impact on the game of baseball. Aaron grew up in a poor segregated section in Mobile, Alabama. From this modest beginning, he found his passion for baseball. Eventually, Aaron joined the Milwaukee Braves as a professional baseball player, and later on he was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame. Henry Louis Aaron was born on February 5, 1934 in a poor black section in Mobile, Alabama. He was the third of eight children born to Herbert, a tavern owner, and Estella a dry dock boilermaker’s assistant, Aaron. Hank developed a strong passion for baseball and football at a young age. During his career he nabbed three Gold Gloves Awards in route to 25 All-Star appearances (Aaron, Hank | Baseball Hall of Fame). For more than 30 years, Hank held the record for most career home runs with 755. That changed on August 7, 2007, when Barry Bonds hit his 756th home run in San Francisco, California. Although Hank lost the home run record, he still holds some of baseball's most distinguished records today including runs batted in (2,297), extra base hits (1,477), total bases (6,856), and most years with 30 or more homeruns (15). Aaron was inducted into the baseball hall of fame in 1982. One of his greatest accomplishments happened on April 8th, 1974 when he banged out his 715th home run to break Babe’s record at 9:07 pm in the fourth inning against the Los Angeles Dodgers. It was a triumph more than 50,000 fans on hand cheered him on as he rounded the bases. There was fireworks and a band, and when he reached home plate his parents were there to greet him.
