“I Was There”, By Hans Peter Richter. The Story follows Three Boys living during Hitler's rise to power In the Early 1900’s. Hans, Gunther, and Heinz are three boys living in germany with totally different upbringings but all families feeling the same bout how much they don't like the war in germany. The Boys with the coming of age are forced into camps that train them to be soldiers eventually becoming soldiers in war. The topic that I'm researching is how the children who lived through the war in germany were affected. How It may have changed their perspective on how they viewed the war before and after. This is basically what my whole book follows but it never really says what they were feeling while in these camps and if they were even
