Blowing Jebediah’s flute released a shock in Lisa during her research for her school essay at the Historical Society Library. Since it was Springfield’s bicentennial, the 200th birthday of the town being founded, they had big celebrations over a criminal. No one knew about the real Jebediah Springfield. Everyone thought that he was the town hero for saving the village but as a matter of fact, he was a fraud. His real name is Hans Sprungfeld which is very similar to his sham name. He changed his name to cover up all the crimes he has done in his life. Sprungfeld attempted to kill George Washington and he even killed people. He was known as the most nefarious man in the 1980’s. Lisa was speechless when she found out what Jebediah was capable of. So she had to come to a decision, if she should either tell the truth about Jebediah or keep it concealed. For that reason, Lisa should’ve told the truth about the real Jebediah Springfield which emerges from her proof and the fact that he doesn’t deserve recognition.…show more content… The town fraud left a huge secret that was in his flute at the Town Historical Society. When Hollis Hurlbut was showing Lisa around and teaching her about Jebediah, but when she blew his flute, Lisa discovered something that made her unspeakable. The note was ripped off from George Washington’s famous painting because it was still wet which was why the painting was incomplete and he lied about taming the bull. He also got in a bar fight with a Turkish pirate and bit his tongue off . This is how he got his prosthetic silver tongue due to him fighting a Turk. If Lisa doesn’t tell the town about all this, everyone in Springfield will still be following fake traditions of a killer.
