* Ball and socket

Swimming
During the backstroke the swimmer uses the ball and socket joint in their shoulder and hip.
They start of by lifting the arm and rotating it around and in and out of the water circumduction)
Extension is occurring when the arm is out of the water also flexion is happening the arm is underwater.
During this the hip joint moves slowly whilst the legs are fully extended, when the hip joints extend this allows the legs to flex, which means the swimmer moves quicker.

Tennis
A tennis player swing his racket, by doing this he uses the ball and socket joint in his shoulder and hip. There is flexion and abduction in the shoulder. There is then flexion in the hip joint and he jumps slightly to create more in his shot, this allows the player to get all their weight behind the racket and ball so the force is greater.
The player then starts to swing and adducts and extends his shoulder. He then rotates his hip joint to adjust to the position of the ball and the shot he is going to hit. When the ball is hit the ball and socket joint is fully extended.

Cricket
When the player throws the ball he uses the ball and socket joint in his shoulder. Firstly he starts off with extension and adduction in the shoulder he then swings his arm back, with the ball in his hand, this creates mire power in their throw, at this point he is halfway through circumduction and his arm is being flexed. He then rotates his arm further (circumduction) so his arm is fully
