A dystopian society that we have read in our stories and our society from our life potray many differences. Among these differences there are similarities that we can connect with these dystopias. These dystopias include Fahrenheit 451 and Harrison Bergeron. In Harrison Bergeron the society is different from ours because by law they are required to be the same. The society are alike though because our society doe focus on fitting in and being like everyone else, although it's not required. The correlation between both society's is that they both don't allow people to think, this causes them to be like everyone else and have to not have the feeling to be different and stand out. Fahrenheit 451 is has many differences form ours because how it normal not to think , but it has some similarities because they are always distracted and so are we.

In the society of Harrison Bergeron the government strives for their people to be exactly alike. The people who are above average have to take extreme measures to make sure they aren’t smarter, or have a greater athletic ability. The main character Harrison is above average requiring him to wear headphones that screech noises and weights around that weigh hundreds of pounds to try to keep him as "normal" as possible. A deeper description is shown in the story, " The rest of Harrison's appearance was Halloween and hardware. Nobody has ever borne heavier handicaps. He has outgrown hindrances faster than H-G men could think them up. Instead of a little ear radio for a mental handicap, he wore a tremendous pair of earphones... Harrison carried three hundred pounds". Our society encourages people to be different not run against it. It would be much more boring if everybody was like everybody else. Yet sometimes our society tries to copy people and to act like each other which is exactly what the government does
