Utopia is a place where everything is perfect. Where there is no problem in the world and nothing violent or drama is going on. Such as the pedestrian were there is no violence. So little that there is just one police car in the whole world! On both, “Harrison Bergeron,” by Kurt Vonnegut and “The Pedestrian,” by Ray Bradbury, had a utopian world and a dystopian consequence. In Harrison Bergeron,” by Kurt Vonnegut, had many flaws to make it a utopian place. They had tried to use handicaps to make people have an equal society. For Harrison Bergeron, the story had a lot of flaws for their “perfect world”. They use handicaps to hold people back for being great. On page 1 by Harrison Bergeron, says that he is above average so they had handicapped him so he can’t be any smarter than anyone else”George, while his intelligence was way above normal, had a little mental handicap radio in his ear”. Which shows that they harm them with this ear piece to keep him with the same intelligence as anyone else. Later on after being halted by the officer he was sent to jail because he we some how crazy. In between these two storeys …show more content…
It may seem perfect until you get into these situations that makes you question whether it's right or not. If we ever did have a perfect society it would be very hard because we have billions of people living on earth so we would have to make everyone's comfort to make them feel great about themselves. But as these storeys show it’s very hard to just try to make everyone equal because they have had to be brainwashed for this to happen. But I would have a doubt that this will ever happen because people have to get in some problems someday because people learn from this and have a life lesson to this. And that is our best society we can have. So we can all solve problems together and go thru this all together to learn a great lesson. So I wouldn’t want to be in a perfect society because I want some competition and learn from mistakes because that would make my life a fun ride. Instead of this lame perfect world. So I rather have a dystopian world rather than utopian world because I would have a great time with competition and learning and being active because that is fun to
