In “The Unselfishness Trap”, Harry Browne says that to be unselfish is to be selfish. He based his argument on the thesis that “human beings act from a single motive, self-love”. Nonetheless, I disagree with his opinion because I believe being unselfish has nothing to do with gaining interest for yourself only but it is to benefit for the community.
In his first argument, he talked about a metaphor regarding a red rubber ball, to which he said happiness would not occur if nobody takes the ball and questioned the reason for being such unselfish. However, I believe that by passing the ball, everyone would have a bit of happiness and no one would have been left alone.
