Could you survive being stranded alone in the Canadian North?In the book Hatchet, written by Gary Paulsen, Brian has to survive in the rugged Canadian north. In the oil fields, it's a tough place to live, especially if you don't have the right skills, knowledge, and character to keep yourself alive.The boy defies all odds by conquering the numerous threats such as ferocious animals, extreme temperatures and lack of resources, thanks to his skills, character traits, and knowledge. I know that I too could survive for the same reasons. Having the proper skills to survive in the north is very important. Brian also read books in school and on his free time so he knew things about animals and flowers and berries for him to eat and I know things like that also. I have taken many different first aid classes so I would be able to help myself it times of need. Brian could have used a first aid knowledge while in the forest so I think that that's is something I have that he doesn't. I also have the knowledge to build a fire. Brian and I both know what to do when buying a fire with and without matches.Whether or not Brian had the knowledge that the adventure novel Hatchet give was never mentioned, but it is definitely important and I know that it would play a key part in my survival. I have a strong will just like Brian and I will also keep going to find food to stay alive even if Brian had some doubts I think I could stay positive. I am also very creative, Brian had to make hunting tools such as a bow and a spear and I think that I could do that too. I know how to whittle and I think I would be able to also make a bow and a spear. Brian was also very competent he had the necessary ability knowledge and skill to survive in the oil fields by himself. I am also very competent with knowing the necessary knowledge from my background. I have many good character traits that would help me to survive and the ones I don't have I can develop just like Brian
