75% of people committing hate crimes are under age 30 - one in three are under 18 - and some of the most pervasive anti-gay violence occurs in schools. Students who describe themselves as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgendered are five times more likely to miss school because of feeling unsafe. 28% are forced to drop out. Discrimination is a serious matter which shouldn’t be taken lightly. Discrimination is a serious problem that causes people who are discriminated have less chance of a job, denied rights because of their sexual preference, and cause hate crimes against them. To begin with, different groups of people who get discriminated have less chances of having a job. Though racism against blacks ended after the civil rights movement, “’I can’t hire you because you’re black,’ Jamilah DaCosta, 25, said she heard when she applied for a job working the counter at the cozy French bake shop”.
