Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that says Martin. Be peaceful and obey the law, respect everyone; but if someone puts his hand on you, send him to the cemetery Malcolm X argued. It's the constant back and forth about what tactics can get us where and how fast. Peaceful, a word used by most, is the way some feel would make a bigger change. Yelling in a police officer face about how you want to be equal is not agreed by people who is defined by that word. On the other hand, saying please and begging for equality in a police officer face is looked at as absurd and down right stupid. My novel, The Rock and The River, put me in the middle of this argument. Leaving me to wonder, would a peaceful protest cause a bigger change that a
