The author hate lobsters being suffered by human and felt annoying by the behavior showed by people since they cook and eat numerous lobsters in different ways at the Maine Lobster Festival. He gave some results of the researches, trying to evoke the heart of loving animals, lobsters in this case, and appealing them to stop the Lobster Festival. Wallace first starts to introduce the culture of the festival, and then he uses the fact that “something over 25,000 pounds of fresh-caught Maine lobster is consumer” to show how much lobster is present currently.
