Anorexia and Bulimia Anorexia is one of the most common things in this world. Anorexia is an emotional disorder characterized by an obsessive desire to lose weight by refusing to eat. Bulimia is an emotional disorder in which bouts of extreme overeating are followed by depression and self-induced vomiting. I chose this topic because I find these topics very serious also because this is mostly happening to girls. Anorexia is a problem because people who think that they are too fat they want to lose weight fast. They think that if they stop eating they could lose weight faster. This is a problem because they could get sick if they can’t get enough nutrients or vitamins in their body. It would become worse if they starve themselves and still workout to lose even more weight. Bulimia is a problem because it can cause heart problems, intestinal problems, muscle fatigue, and fluid imbalances in the body. Anorexia was mostly affecting 85% of teens and adults were 25% of adults were also anorexia. Many teens that are girls as teens start to lose weight because they think they are overweight. Bulimia affects approximately 1 percent to 3 percent of teens in the United States, with the illness usually beginning in late teens or early adult life. Bulimia is very dangerous and that it can risk your life the same thing for anorexia. A treatment most often used is go to therapy so that the person can tell them the reason they are anorexia.
