Heart disease is a very well known and very common disease. “Heart disease is an umbrella term for any type of disorder that affects the heart. Heart disease means the same as cardiac disease, but is not cardiovascular,” quoted (Nordqvist). If you’re wondering what cardiovascular disease is, it’s a disorder within the blood vessels and heart, asfore heart disease consists of problems with the heart only. “According to WHO (World Health Organization), heart disease is the leading cause of death in the UK, USA, Canada, and Australia,” says Nordqvist. In the United States about 24.4% of deaths are because people end up getting heart disease. He also says, “The term heart disease refers to several types of heart conditions.” The most common type of heart disease is called Coronary Artery Disease. (Nordqvist)
Some things that cause heart disease are potential, dietary effects, function, and considerations. Potential works in causing heart disease because if your family members had it or currently have it then most likely you’ll get it yourself. Secondly, dietary effects play a part in heart disease because according to the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), anything with high levels of saturated fat and cholesterol. Also high consumption of salt or sodium can cause you to get heart disease because of high blood pressure. Now, thirdly there’s function. If you are inactive then you could get heart disease because you’re not ridding yourself of excess pounds so you’ll have bad cholesterol, high blood pressure, and/or diabetes that can lead to the heart disease. Last, we have the considerations to worry about. If you smoke and/or drink then the harmful chemicals can raise bloods pressure and decrease oxygen flow to cause disease. You must remember to always eat healthy and nutritious, eat-foods with low saturated fats, cut down on dietary cholesterol, and read food labels because these help to reduce the chance of getting high blood pressure which can give you heart disease.
