In the early 1940's, a young actress named Hedy Lamar created the idea of frequency hopping. After being laughed at and doubted by many people, Hedy Lamar signed over her ideas to the navy. After the idea spread, she never truly got the credit she deserved. Her intelligent ideas later led up to the invention of wifi. You don't often think about your everyday uses, do you? We don't often think that what we are now using, wasn't always here before. Wifi was a huge change in today's society and more than 61% of all households in the Untied States have wifi networks installed. Without wifi my life would be very different because wifi has changed my life and has helped me in many scenarios such as: staying connected with family and friends, contacting my family in emergency situations, and saving my family a lot of money. Many people that are young and don't pay for their own phone bill, they don't understand the amount of money our parents pay for our phones and data. Many people don't appreciate it and think it's a given. Although we have data that we can use, there is a certain limit for most people. For example I have fifteen gigabytes to share within a family of four. Every time we use a gigabyte over our limit, we have to pay extra for every extra gigabyte added. Just imagine how much money your family has to pay if you used 30 gigabytes over your limit. It's outrageous!
