Hedy Lammar is an Austrian actress and inventor. She was born in Vienna, Austria on November 9, 1914 and was named Hedwig Eva Maria Kiesler. She started acting at age 17, and starred in a German production named Geld auf Der Strause. Lammar invented an early technique to for spread spectrum communications.
Lammar's most famous invention was wireless connection services. She and her partner, George Antthiel, developed a “Secret Communications Services” to combat the Nazis in WWII.
