Columbia University has many opportunities and academics that are unique to its campus that I am interested in. Being fascinated with psychology, the many laboratories available to volunteer at is one aspect that draws me to Columbia. Specifically, the Heiphetz: Social and Moral Cognition Lab is a lab I have great interest in because of the research on child and adult perceptions regarding moral decisions and the criminal justice system, which I see as important in today’s society. As you know Columbia requires a psychology major to take courses from Group One (perception and cognition), Group Two (psychobiology and neuroscience), and Group Three (social, personality, and abnormal), which would allow me to explore all branches of psychology
