Music is everywhere, and because it's everywhere music can be and is inspired by everything. Songs now a day's are inspired by old poets, nature, or anything artists can up with. Sometimes creating a foundation of your own when creating a song is hard, I mean music has been around for so long that it's kind of hard to find a way to make a song with a unique topic base sound etc.. So instead of going through the whole progress artist turn to poets. Poets like Shakespeare, Emily Dickinson, or even Robert Frost. Artist use the foundation of one of these poets works and build it from their similar experiences. Beside this song there are many numerous songs that take inspiration from Shakespeare, some show their connection more obvious than others such as the song "Love Song" by Taylor Swift which clearly states "Cause you were Romeo ,I was a scarlet letter And my daddy said stay away from Juliet" incasing the names of two famous characters in one of Shakespeare's plays Romeo and Juliet. Some songs are more discreet such as Girlfriend by Avril Lavinge which speaks about a girl not liking her crushes significant other also taking in the theme of Helena and Demetrius.
