A liger is half a male lion and half a female tiger. It is a very rare animal, there are only 100 in the world. Ligers are believed to be the biggest cat on the planet weighing in at an average of 750 pounds and when it is standing it is 9 feet tall.That is almost twice the size of the average male human. The average lifespan is about 15 years. Hercules the Liger is in the Guinness World Record book for being the largest living cat on the earth.
