In the mid 1990s, Tiger Woods emerged winning his first major golf tournament to become one of the most winningest golfer in history, everybody turned the tv on Sunday afternoon to watch Tiger win the Masters, FedEx cup or the U.S. Open. in his era he was golf’s Most Valuable Player. (MVP). MVP’S are people in sports or a workplace, at home or in just everyday life that sticks out. These people have something about them that sets them apart, they are leaders, have great skills/traits, and make a statement. In the book Surviving Antarctica there are five kids that are picked to trek to the south pole. Viewers of the show vote on a MVP. Out of the five kids Grace deserves to be MVP because of all her knowledge of the ice and snow from her grandfather and the inupiat legends and sayings she remembers.
One of the ways Grace showed how she is MVP worthy is that she is always brave and takes pride in diving her dogs and being willing without hesitation to take on extra work, weight or a new lead or role. When Billy came upon a large crevasse, the kids were very uneasy to go across a snow bridge they had found but when they asked Grace to cross first she said yes (299).
