Heroes In The Odyssey

Hero is a difficult thing to talk about. Everyone has different views and opinions. One person may think someone is a hero, and another will disagree. It’s even more difficult with heroes from a story, like Odysseus. He is considered a hero among many, but there are some that think the opposite. Like Carinda Trowbridge, a regular nurse and mother of two. Many see her as a hero or savior, yet some disagree. Odysseus and Carinda are alike because even if they’re strong on their own, they both need their teams to help them get along. Odysseus would be dead if he didn’t have his crew. They helped him come up with ideas, and if they didn’t die, he would’ve. They followed his orders and stood by him. That’s the situation with Carinda. Even if she is the leader, she needs her team to get through the day. Her “crew” is there for her for emotional and physical support. Without their team, they are alone and weak. She describes him as loving and generous. He was true to himself, and respectful to others. She has looked up to him all her life, even to this day. Odysseus was not able to be a father to his son for very long, for as soon as Telemachus was born he was shipped away to fight in the Trojan War. He never got the chance to be a good father towards him. Both want to be like their fathers, even to this day. Carinda and Odysseus may be different in many ways, yet they are so similar. They both have a fire in their hearts that makes them so similar and that is the reason many others consider them heroes. These things above may be a part of the reason, but real reason is that they are both passionate about so many things and try to be the best that they can. That is why they are heroes, bravery doesn’t
