Heroic Beauty The Odyssey project that Dita Musinovic and Amiya Frahm had created was a beauty line, inspired by the gods and goddesses of the greek time period, along with the true aspects shown by Odysseus and his heroic actions. It is a self-made and self-designed beauty collection. It holds a variety of different products such as cosmetic and skincare products. As a pair, we decided to call this, “Heroic Beauty,” due to Odysseus showing heroic tendencies. Along with the real, natural, beauty behind an epic hero. We wanted to make it known that there can be beauty and grace behind someone so strong and epic. Our theme throughout the project is to be able to connect the project to important, heroic scenes, and create it to make …show more content…
Heroic Beauty contains, The Gold Collection, The Black Collection, and The Blue Collection. It all contains different products and it all has different meanings, inspired by the Odyssey. The Gold Collection contains an anti-aging moisturizer, an eyeshadow primer, and a setting spray. The anti-aging moisturizer was inspired by the fact that Odysseus spent several, several, years traveling back to Ithaca. We decided to call it, “Odysseus Ages.” Since, he was not immortal, it magnifies that he will get old and get wrinkles and get the features that someone old would get, it would help him with anti-aging. The second item of the Gold Collection is the, “Tree-Bed Eye Primer.” This was made because the bed Odysseus made around a tree, can’t move, therefore, what most primers are suppose to do, are keep your makeup in place and stay all day, which was the connection we made. Penelope and Odysseus only knew the true secret of the bed. The third and final product is the Setting Spray which we named, “Ithaca.” The reason for it’s name was because, typically, setting spray is the last and final step after doing a cosmetic routine, it locks everything in place. That is why we called it Ithaca. It was the last place Odysseus had to venture …show more content…
He would cry everyday, in hopes he could return home. Not even Calypso could smear it or damage this bundle. Then lastly, we have the Blue Collection, inspired by the belief that blue represents water, sky and sea. We connected it to Poseidon, and named a dark teal eyeshadow after him, mimicking that he is the God of the sea. Then we named a lighter blue eyeshadow, inspired by the event of Charybdis. Which we then simply named, “Charybdis.” Then the last eyeshadow is named, “At Sea.” This a grey/blue eyeshadow to represent the gloomy seas, and the amount of time spent out at sea. Then the very last product is called, “Island of the Lotus,” it is what’s commonly referred to as an illuminator or highlighter. It makes the high points of the face stand out, such as the nose, cupid’s bow and the cheeks. We named it, “The Island of the Lotus,” because it signifies the hardships faced when at the island. It relates to water because an island is typically in a body of water. This product though is a pink color, replicating the color of a lotus. We created all of these products by taking some already made eyeshadows, lipsticks, etc. Which we then painted and took the eyeshadows and out into what is called a, “Z Palette.” These are very common in the beauty world, they help you make your own palettes and help you mess with
