When I was five years old, I witnessed an act of heroism. My family was taking a walk and we came across a big clamorous crowd and a cloud of smoke. We rushed over to see what was going on. A fire had broken out in a home, and an ordinary man in the crowd ran in to help the screaming people inside. This was before the firefighters had arrived. The man knew that the firefighters wouldn’t get there in time. He is a hero because he ran into danger not caring about his own life. He knew the consequences could have been disastrous, but he sacrificed himself anyway. A hero can be many different things, they can be an individual who has sacrificed their life or something important to them for the good of mankind and to help others …show more content…
They could have been generals, war strategists, or plain soldiers. War is like chess, the King is the country you are fighting for, the generals are the bishops, and the pawns are the soldiers. The pawns are the ones who get all the orders and often are considered invaluable. But pawns can also take down kings. All can be heroes. For example, General Dwight D. Eisenhower is a hero because he had to make very important decisions in World War II. Many of these decisions could affect the outcome of the war and one wrong move could have lost it for them. This was a very difficult and frustrating position for him, placing an enormous amount of pressure by everyone on him to do it right at the right time. General Eisenhower was determined and had perseverance, with these qualities, he was able to formulate major battle victories for our side and lead us to victory in the war. He later became president of the United States because of his determination, perseverance, intelligence, and many other traits that make him the archetype of a leader and a hero.
Next, a hero never says it’s too late to do the right thing. A hero doesn’t let fear stop him from completing his journey and accomplishing his goal. A hero is not selfish and egocentric, he is not dishonest, untrustworthy, or unloyal to the people who support him. But most importantly, a true hero never gives
