Your post is informative and interesting. I agree with your statement in that utilizing the memories and cognitive ability that are still present is important. The severity of Dementia and Alzheimer's can worsen any time. The best way to produce better memory and cognitive functioning are through physical activities or performing tasks. I find it interesting that patients can recall the incident of their falls. However, they do not recall other events. Caregivers should perform tasks with the patient and keep them active. older adults should take caution and be aware of their surrounds. they should make sure the floor is clear of items and dry of any liquid. taking a fall can negatively affect cognitive functioning.
