“Hidden Curriculum” is the term for the social skills/ rules nobody is directly taught but everyone knows. This is particularly prominent in classrooms. Children with Autism need to be directly told/ taught something to truly understand what is going on. Not picking up on or not understanding the “hidden curriculum” in classrooms can result in social isolation. Social inclusion is crucial in the development of children.
