Hidden Message In The Shining

Why does it seem like everyone who watches The Shining sees a hidden message in it? When I watched the movie, all I saw was a crazy man who was trying to murder his family. For some people, they saw this movie and thought it symbolizes the holocaust while others saw a trend with Native American artifacts. Other people who decided to overanalyze the movie determined that Danny was wearing an Apollo 11 shirt because the movie was about a Space Odyssey. And one of the craziest ideas was that the poster that had the work "SKI" clearly printed on it was a minotaur. The Holocaust took place from 1933 to 1945, and was a time when millions of people were killed systematically. Many people believe that this movie is full of secrets and hidden messages when really, it is just another horror movie. If Kubrick wanted people to see a hidden message, then he would have made them obvious enough to were the majority of viewers would understand the message. I think that once somebody watches the same film over and over trying to find a secret, then they will eventually find something or make something up. I think the people that saw the skiing poster and said that it was actually a Minotaur were desperate and just wanted to find something that nobody else had seen before. I think the same goes for the people who thought that the entire movie was based off of Apollo 11 because of one scene where Danny was wearing a shirt that said "Apollo 11" on it. There were many arguments that involved Indian artifacts and the Calumet flour. I think the Indian artifacts are there because they found them when they wer building the hotel. I believe that the Calumet flour was at the hotel because Kubrick wanted to remind the audience that the hotel was built on a Indian burial ground, and to make the hotel feel as though it was haunted by the
