High School Advice Rough Draft
Almost every middle-schooler is excited to start high school...before they even finish middle school. While they may think it’s like the movies, the sad truth is that high school is totally different from its fictitious counterpart. With a bit of advice outlined by me, full of information I wish I either possessed before starting high school, or things I have learned since starting, these tips should help them get the most out of their secondary education.
In your freshman year of high school, it’s best to get as many A’s as possible obtain (and maintain) a high GPA throughout it. It is also necessary to take your first year seriously. Seriously. This will make your life so much easier in the long run. Goofing

Senior year. By now you should have about 65-85% of your post-graduation plans figured out. Major, school, and money. If you don’t, try talking to your guidance counselor to see if they can give you a little more insight into how to make this impending decision with the most clarity. Re-take the SAT or ACT if necessary and register for a Common Application account. Schedule-wise, don’t take more than three study halls, you’ll look lazy and unmotivated, which is understandable but still not a good look for your transcript. Don’t forget your mandatory English and math classes; make sure you double check your preferred college’s requirements, they may want four years of a single language. Now, pick some electives that interest you. By now you should only need two to three other credits in order to graduate, so pick classes that either pertain to your schooling interests, or seem cool and you’re not sure if you want to actually take it in college. This saves you time and money when it comes to college if you already have an idea of what subjects you do and don’t like. Continue to strive for those A’s and don’t slack off, you didn't come all this way just to fail and have to do it all over again.
