High School Lunch Narrative

“Do you want to come sit with us?” The sentence that started it all. Going into to the first day of school, I had no idea that my whole world would turn upside down. I went through my first day of freshman year nervous to even be in the high school. My reputation still horrible still getting the same disgusted looks use to all of it, I carried on with my day. I had to keep reminding myself of the changes I’ve made and that I am not that person anymore.
The day carried on finally lunch came around. My friend Alexis called me over to introduce me to a new friend she had made. I walked over and said “hi” she said “Evelyn meet Greg, Greg meet Evelyn.” I had recognized Greg and finally realized that I had seen him at church camp over the summer. After I had met him I went and sat back down. When I realized Greg was sitting alone, I got back up and went over and invited him to come sit with my friends and I. As lunch ended we realized that we had the next class together. I asked if he wanted to sit with me in class and he did.

One day things changed at lunch Greg said a sentence to me I never expected, “Will you go to homecoming with me.” Nervously I replied with “maybe.” I never had thought of Greg as more than a friend, plus I had a crush on someone else. So the next day I went up to him and told him I was sorry but I had plans to go with friends already. The next week was probably one of the most awkward weeks of my life. Greg stopped sitting with us for a few days and when he came back I ignored him not knowing what else to do. Life went on and we all kind of forgot about it and just all stayed friends. After a while Greg told me he had a crush on someone else. He got a girlfriend and I didn’t think much of it. The relationship soon ended.
