For students that work jobs after school, having to be at school before 7:30 is tremendously stressful. I know this from personal experience. I start work at 5:00 PM and get off at 11:00 PM and get to sleep by 12:30 or 1 in the morning. Most of the time on the days after I work I wake up late sometimes at 6:45 AM. This means I am at most getting 6 hours of sleep. When I wake up I feel drowsy all day and the cycle just repeats. I have found myself to be way more irritable and angry than i have been in the past before school started and I started working. This can drop students grades. When I fall asleep in class I often find it hard to catch up in the class on what I missed. I wake up confused on the subject. With most students we just give up until the next period. I see this happen at least 4 times every period. Most students will just accept that they did bad and missed out on the assignments not knowing there is always a way to catch up on their missed work.
