High School is not only about becoming older and learning new things, but is about our years training for us to be ready for the outside world. It is a milestone that will help us blossom into successful young men and women. High school is also about becoming more experienced in life and deciding what you want to do or be when the time comes. That’s why it’s very important to choose the right foundation for college and adult life and I believe that High Tech High school can do this for me. High Tech can help me accomplish my goals and will lead me towards a great path to my career of choice. According to research, High Tech is #20 nationally and #2 in the state for best high schools. These strengths include working well with others, my great source of positivity that will never go away (optimism), my confidence, intuition, communication, tolerance, loyalty, negotiation, and most of all creativity. Having these characteristics are helpful in anything that I do. During my leisure time I like to sing, play the piano, volunteer at my church, train hard to move on to my next rank for taekwondo (practicing my forms, weapons, etc.). As a member of Dr. Walter F. Robinson School’s National Junior Honor Society, I have learned to strive to do better and be an inspiration to my fellow students and peers. By taking positions of responsibility in school, I have become resourceful, a good problem solver, and a promoter of school activities. My hard work has made me boost up my intellectual knowledge and has given me an opportunity to take Algebra 1 in eighth grade, which is considered a high school course. Being a black belt in taekwondo has taught me discipline and respect for others. In my community, I am very active in my church. I volunteer my time, as an eighth grader, to assist, organize, and plan events, like supporting and participating in fundraising activities, that will benefit the church and others who are less fortunate. Without doing Extra-Curricular activities, I would not have been able to learn about time management, self-esteem, building solid relationship skills, and getting involved in diverse interests.
