One advantage of the United States adopting a multicultural perspective is a simple one: we will learn to coexist, peacefully. Multicultural perspective will promote trust and respect between cultures. The most productive people are the most trusting people! Recognizing and understanding cultural differences is essential in building trust in order to solve existing and potential problems in this nation. Through trust, collaboration, and cooperation, the United States could benefit socially and financially. After building trust, multiculturalism can teach us that we can learn from one another. In this rapid changing world, adopting a multicultural perspective can allow students to experience and understand different cultures. Multicultural education increases creative problem-solving skills through the different perspectives applied to same problems to reach solutions. Multicultural education increases positive relationships through achievement of common goals, respect, appreciation, and commitment to equality among the intellectuals at institutions of higher education. Multicultural education decreases stereotyping and prejudice through direct contact and interactions among diverse individuals.
