Jimmie’s sudden growth had his high school team, the Hillville Big Ballers, in state title talks. Half way through the season Jimmie was averaging thirty-five points a game, making at least seven threes a game. The Big Ballers were one of the only undefeated teams along with the Springwell Goats. The Big Ballers last game of the season was against the Springwell goats, and people were saying that it was a preview of the championship game. Jimmie was so excited to face actual competition for once that the first play of the game he tried to dunk on Springwell’s seven-foot center named Will. The trainer told Jimmie that he was out for the rest of the game and may miss the playoffs as well. When he got back to the gym after getting his wrist wrapped, he saw his team was down by twenty points and Will was dominating the paint. Springwell went on to blowout the Big Ballers in the last game of the regular season and at that moment Jimmie swore to his teammates that if they made it to the championship game he would play no matter how much his wrist hurt. This motivated his team because the Hillville Big Ballers ran through their playoff competition until the only team stopping them from winning the state title were the undefeated Springwell Goats. Even though Jimmie’s wrist was not at 100% he still warmed up with the team and planned to play in the championship game. The game started off with a dominant performance from Will, he was snatching rebounds and was dunking all over the place. The Big Baller went down by twenty points quickly.
