According to fws.gov (U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service) only one type of dragonfly is endangered. That dragonfly is the Hine’s Emerald dragonfly. The Hine’s Emerald Dragonfly has become endangered because, it goes in the water most of the time and water could be polluted (water is green) or filled with water bottles, soda cans, plastic rings, or other trash. Another reason is Habitat loss. In this case habitat loss means cutting down trees or destroying animal property. Two reasons that this may contribute to the Hine’s Emerald dragonflies endangerment due to habitat loss is being killed in the machinery or being killed by a falling down tree.
