The Holocaust was a state-sponsored persecution of millions of Jews, Romani people, disabled people, political dissidents, and homosexuals which took place between 1933 and 1945, (history.com editors, 1). Something that led to the Holocaust is the Hitler Youth. Some people that were involved in the Hitler Youth are Hitler, Herbet Norkus, Sophie Scholl, Henry Metelmann, Karl Schnibbe, and Ebel. In the Hitler Youth, while girls prepared to be wives and mothers, boys were in military training, (US Holocaust Memorial Museum, 4). The Hitler Youth was organized on Monday, April 20, 1936 (23, Bartoletti), in Germany, (US Holocaust Memorial Museum, 8). First, Hitler forced kids to learn and practice his teachings. Some unfortunate things happened to people that are against the Hitler Youth and kids that are involved with the Hitler Youth. The text says, Herbert Norkus, who disobeyed Hitler, was murdered on Sunday, January 24, 1932, (Bartoletti/HITLER YOUTH, 9). This is negative because an innocent person was murdered. They disobeyed Hitler and they were treated unfairly. What Hitler did was unjust. Also, the Hitler Youth is one of the things that started the Holocaust. Hitler rose to power, which started the Hitler Youth, and eventually the Holocaust. The text says, the Nazis came into power in January 1933, and have about 100,000 members, (US Holocaust Memorial Museum/6). The Nazis gained 100,000 members, which is very powerful. That had a negative impact on the people that were against Hitler and against the Hitler Youth. With that many people, the Nazis could easily over power the Jews.
