2. Hix should be liable for his attempt to engage with a child. Even though the child he was attempting to meet up with does not exist, he was aware of her age and that meeting with her was illegal, yet he still attempted to meet her at the McDonald’s. Even though Hix’s intended result was impossible due to circumstances unknown to him, he should be liable for the attempted of such conduct. Regardless of the communication being between the defendant and an adult law enforcement officer, Hix was attempting to inappropriately communicate with and meet up with an underage child. Harm in this situation would only come if Hix were not held liable for his actions, as it would provide precedent for others in Hix’s situation to not be held liable,
