The New Year starts off like any other. Wishing I didn’t eat that much or spend that much and maybe this year I’ll start working out. So just like many others that make similar resolutions little did I know that my brother in law would be the one to push me as well as my wife. So about mid-January comes and he calls and say that he is coming down with the wife and kids for a run, my wife and I said ok see you then. At his run I really didn’t want to get out but I did to cheer him on. The reason I didn’t want to get out was because I used to be in shape when I was in the Army and I was a runner. Seeing all the other runners made me sick to my stomach knowing that I was fat and out of shape. So as he finished the race I was glad to leave. During this time, I was having issues with knee again but isn’t much left they can do for me as knee is just worn out. So my wife and I had to go look for special running shoe that will help with high impact for our knees. We found out that HOKA ONE ONE is meant for us so I coughed up the money and off we went. The next two runs we did was up in Omaha, Nebraska with her brothers. And one of those was a color run and I’m so glad I’m never doing one of those again. And a third race which the girls picked out was a glitter run if I wasn’t married there would be no way in hell that I would do those. Before we left Omaha her brother said hey do the half marathon with me on Sunday. I really wasn’t sure because I would still have to drive back seven hours back to Tulsa. Well with my wife in one ear and him going just do it I signed up. Once again no real training for long distance as I was only running 3-4 miles twice a week I signed myself up.
