Medieval Europe and the Khmer empire had many similarities and differences that existed between both cultures. This is illustrated by examining crime and punishment and religion. A major similarity is highlighted as they both had very harsh punishments for committing crimes. In contrast, both cultures had different religions such as the Khmer Empire believed in Hinduism and Buddhism while Medieval Europe believed in Christianity. Throughout both cultures there is many differences between Medieval Europe and the Khmer Empire.
