The country I chose to perform the hofstede analysis on was United States and Spain. The reasoning behind my decision was the diversity in the categories between the two countries. Couple major differences you quickly point out when looking at the analysis is individualism, Uncertainty Avoidance, Indulgence, and Power Distance. These three factors play a roll in our every day life as a citizen of the United States.
One of the biggest differences between the United States and Spain, is the Individualism analysis on the countries. The United States scored extremely high on the hofstede analysis scoring a 91. While Spain scored 40 points lower, with the score of 51. This meaning the United States is extremely individualized. We like to stand out form one anther, refer to ourselves as “I”. The society is loosely-knit in which the expectation is that people look after themselves and their immediate families only. We tend to not worry about friendships as much. To where Spain they are more open to helping and inviting into their homes, seeking friendship and good ties throughout the community. Living in Spain you would tend to complete business and other tasks as a group with people you know.

This meaning we are very open to new idea, technology, business practices, and even food. The idea of not knowing doesn’t frighten us but actually intrigues us. This is very different than living in the Spanish culture.
