John L. Holland had developed the Holland Code which is a theory of selecting a career type

depending on your type of personality. The themes are categorized into RIASEC which stands for

Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising and Conventional. After filling out and completing

the Holland Code personality quiz, the results I received were Artistic and Enterprising. I feel that these

results reflect my personality perfectly because it matches the type of career I would like to pursue in

my future. The career I chose is Graphic Designer. I chose this career because I’m very interested in

graphic artwork which is artwork that combines classic or present day cartoons and comic book

Graphic Designing requires either a Bachelor’s Degree or an Associate’s Degree. Since I’m trying to

perfect my talent and put out amazing artwork I would like to graduate with a Bachelor’s degree. Two

colleges I was looking into were the Fashion Institute of New York and the New Paltz State University of

New York.

My first college choice was the Fashion institute of New York located at Seventh Avenue at 27

Street. I had chosen to look into this college because it is located in the city and that is where I want to

pursue my career. Also, going to a college in the city will assist me in learning how the city works and

what business’s in the city look for in Graphic Designers. FIT is also ranked among the top 5 fashion

schools in the world. FIT is fairly small campus and easy to navigate through and find classes. Looking at

various comments, all the reviews from the school are extremely positive. FIT accepts financial aid from

sources such as Scholarships, Grants, Federal Loans and Work study’s. I feel FIT is the perfect school and

I hope to be able to attend this and be as successful as some their Alumni’s such as Calvin Klein and

Michael Kors.
