Many individuals look at their place of residence as being a dwelling where they can find comfort, relax, be safe, and connect with kinship. They leave what has happened outside of their residences to embrace more familiar relationships. Some individuals to not have that because they are homeless. One scholar describes homeless as not having a stable, consistent, and suitable dwelling to go to in the evening. The scholar has specified that people are homeless if the place where individuals go to in the evening has overseers and the housing is provisional, a facility that offered short-term lodging for people who are planned to be committed, or a dwelling that was not considered or customarily available to provide lodging for people (Burger, 2014).

I work with individuals who have previously been homeless. I often recommend that they make different choices with their resources to keep from being in jeopardy of losing their housing.
