I am writing to you hopes that I might persuade you to look deeply into the importance of getting the homeless off the streets. The reason i'm writing this today is because it's hard to see people living under a bridge, and also seeing them starve daily. There are currently 564,508 people that are homeless today. I simply request that our government make more homeless shelters. I understand that it will cost a lot of money to build more of these shelters, but we can all contribute in raising money to cover the overall cost of the required amount.

I realize that the United States has a huge deficit and every effort is being made to cover all the other issues that are faced around the world. Although I believe that this is a big issue as well.

For example, they have been wasting money on vehicles instead of using that money to build more to the shelter , perhaps bigger restrooms or even rooms for the people to sleep in. Another thing is that they are charging the homeless three dollars to actually live in the shelter, we could raise the amount to five dollars with that we could build more on what is really needed. We could also ask the taxpayers to cover some expenses nothing that serious, just small travel size toothpaste and a small brush.

I believe that it is essential to get theses veterans and non veterans off the streets they all deserve a place to live. I believe that a person has a right to live under a roof, whether it being a small house or apartment anything is better than living in those harsh conditions.I think that the funding should cover basic materials needed materials. That being toilet paper, toothpaste, toothbrush, etc.
I hope that you will consider these thoughts the next time you are asked to vote on issues involving the homeless community. As a young male in hopes of enlisting in the United States Air Force will be sure that when I retire I will have a safe place to call my own. My hopes is that our country will support the homeless community and a greater appreciation for our veterans and fellow
