Homelessness in Fresno
Homelessness remains a really big issue in Fresno. It’s a subject that a lot of individuals avoid and do not take into consideration. A person experiences homelessness when they lose their home or is born without one. This is an issue that many Americans are facing today, but many people do not seem to care. People are left out on the streets to fend for themselves. No person should be forced to live like that. Good hearted individuals become savages that are forced to scrounge through garbage, and then are treated like dirt by the public. They see them as rats festering in the streets, and are often judged because of their horrible situation. The homeless cannot help themselves, after being in poverty for so long it is nearly impossible to start a new life. That is why change needs to be made. Although there are programs for helping with the cost of food and housing, there are often not enough resources to help every homeless person out. There is still a lot of room for improvement. The United States needs to invest more money on permanent supportive housing, such as houses and apartments, for the homeless so that they can live better lives.

No human being should be forced to live on the streets without a place to call home. The streets are a dangerous place to live: disease, violence, and drugs are all problems that the homeless have to endure. That is why it is important that the nation focuses on permanent supportive housing for the homeless because this idea has the potential to be successful.
