The strongest and weakest points of each side are that the Defense, they are stronger against the workers since they are in charge and has the most power. For example, Andrew Carnegie said,“I needed to own the companies that found the minerals in the ground, the companies that mined the minerals, the companies that transported the minerals to my steel plants, and the coal mines to fuel the furnaces in the steel mills, as well as the steel mills themselves, this gave me a competitive advantage.” This quote is saying that he would make a company with workers to work for him. The defense’s weakness is when someone gets killed. They would mourn or be sad for that reason thinking it was their fault. Andrew Carnegie said,”I don’t know what to say about the tragedy of the Homestead Factory Strike. I mourn all 16 men who died on the grounds of my steel factory that day, the workers and the guards.” This quote is describing how Andrew got a company and then people ended up dying …show more content…
“The conditions we worked in, poor ventilation in dimly lit rooms filled with children working side by side, with minimal breaks, and no talking or singing allowed.” Emma Woodhouse worked with her brother along side and they saw this which is very sad. People forced the kids not to talk or sing which is how they can control them.
The major argument of the Defense is imprisonment. I’m saying this because the Defense don’t really care about the workers and just wanted to reach their goal. Henry Clay Frick said,” I never thought about what the conditions were for my workers, for me they were just numbers on a page, and my goal was to make more and more profits. I wanted wages to decrease so that my profits would increase. It was just math to me.“ This describes how he just made his workers work because he was very addicted to getting his wage to decrease so that his profits could
